How we work
How we build
with AI
Our engineers work with coding agents every day. That is not the interesting part any more — most teams do. What matters is what surrounds the agent: what it is told to build, who reads what it wrote, and who answers when it is wrong.
The workflow
Agents do the typing.
People own the result.
Specification first
An agent builds exactly what it is told. So the spec, the data and the edge cases come first — that is what discovery is for.
Agents implement
Coding agents write most of the first draft, in small, reviewable changes inside your repository.
Seniors review
Every change is read by a senior engineer before it merges. Nothing ships that nobody understands.
Tests decide
Automated tests, evaluation sets for AI features, and a security pass before release.
Our rules
What we do —
and what we refuse to.
A named owner for every change
Whoever approves a change answers for it, exactly as if they had typed it. "The AI wrote it" is never an explanation.
No unread code in production
Generated code that no engineer has read does not merge, however green the tests are.
Measured AI, not vibes
Every AI feature ships with an evaluation set built from real cases, re-run before any model or prompt change.
Your tools, your data rules
We use only AI tools you have approved, and your code and data stay out of model training. If a tool is off-limits, we work without it.
Right-sized models
The cheapest model that passes the evaluation, not the most impressive one. Running costs matter more than demo quality.
Leave the practice behind
Prompts, agent instructions, tests and docs live in your repository, so your team can keep working the same way after we leave.
Why experience matters more now.
A coding agent will produce plausible code for almost any request. Telling plausible from correct — spotting the race condition, the missing permission check, the query that will fall over at ten times the data — takes someone who has watched systems fail.
We have been building production software since 2017, and our CTO for more than twenty years. AI made that experience more valuable, not less: it is now the only part of the work that cannot be generated.
We work alongside your in-house AI efforts, not in competition with them. See our services.
